Adobe Flash enables the creation of animated and interactive elements which can be seamlessly embedded into a site.  Common examples of Flash elements include fading images, interactive games, animated characters, and animated buttons.

Flash is a web browser plugin, which means that not every user can see flash content. Flash elements are best used as visual accents, and should always offer a simple alternative for users that do not have a sufficient connection or browser.
